Each wedding has itā€™s own unique special qualities, but this oneā€¦ Well, Welcome to our first wedding that we drove into a Tropical Storm for! Oh yes we did! And it was totally worth it!!!

Backing up a bit, we have had such a busy 2019 but we are super excited about some new projects and catching with blogging in 2020! But This!! This is one of those weddings that we couldnā€™t wait to blog about! It was so simple yet so sweet! Absolute proof that you donā€™t necessarily have to ā€œgo big or go homeā€ to make your wedding beautiful! Make it what YOU want it to be, not what everyone else wants it to be. Go with your colors (whether mild or wild), your decor (whether simple or elaborate), your guest list (whether large or small)ā€¦Make it yours but donā€™t forget that at the end of the day, the most important detail is that you will be saying ā€œi-doā€ to the love of your life! That is what we remind our brides and grooms of each time we photograph a wedding. We try to help them stay focused on the most important thing. Because after almost 25 years of marriage (and 10 years of photographing weddings together), we have learned that not all days are perfect; And not all moments are curated or planned and thank God not all moments are ā€œcapturedā€ (ha-ha-at least not in real life), but all moments (the good, bad and ugly - hee-hee) can make your relationship stronger if you allow it! And just know in advance, There will more than likely be moments you didnā€™t plan on your wedding day. Not everything goes according to plan. But one of our favorite things at weddings is to encourage our clients that everything will settle down and it will all work out beautifully. Weā€™ve seen it happen time and time again over the last 10 years of weddings we have photographed. So whether a simple wedding with only a few details or a lavish wedding with many details, either way, whatever your taste is, it can be lovely and most importantly, keeping the focus of your vows and committment to a lifetime of love is the most important detail! The rest is just logistics. :-)

Without further adieu, let us introduce you to Jason and Brittainy. The love between them is absolutely beautiful. The way they just calm each other and strengthen each other couldnā€™t be missed. We love that they chose to forgo certain traditional details that are present at some weddings and receptions and chose to make it their own and exactly what they wanted (although we are totally a sucker for photographing all the little details, and rest assured, if you have them at your wedding, we will capture them!). These two focused their time and hard-earned money on what was most important to them tho, which was gathering their closest friends and family to celebrate this epic day! And it was epic! And breathtaking!

Now letā€™s talk about that tropical storm that blew thru! EEK!!! We knew there was a tropical storm headed their way and that we would be driving right through it to get to them, but not even a tropical storm could hinder their love (or hinder us from capturing their day!!! We always love a good adventure anyway. LOL). It actually worked out perfect, because by the time they were ready to say ā€œI doā€, the storm had mostly blown through and it was really just a super windy, overcast day on the beach (with some super cool clouds. Allenā€™s favorite, because they make for some killer photos! Ha-ha).

It turned out gorgeous and although a bit windy, these two pushed through and made the best of it all! Saint George Island turned out to be such a gorgeous backdrop for their wedding day! After a simple, sweet ceremony and a few quick photos, we zipped on over a few blocks (to their beach house) for the reception. It was perfect!!! We sure hope you can see the love between them through our lens!
